About Beth
I was born and raised in Chico, actually born in Willows, but that's a long story! I attended McManus, Bidwell and PVHS and then UCSC, graduating in 1991. I lived in San Francisco post-college and worked at an Oakland group home/school for 2 years with SED children. I met my future husband there...employee, not a resident, and we later married and moved to Chico, where I received my teaching credential in 1995. I taught 5th grade in Oroville for one year before coming to Hooker Oak 15 years ago! I have been a sprout for quite some time, teaching a 4/5, a 4/5/6, 5/6, 3/4 for four years and now 5/6 for three years most recently. I LOVE what I do, I LOVE planning units, taking field trips, learning new things, meeting families and kids and I LOVE doing nice things for others. Service learning is a big part of Room 9. In between all of this, three Geise kids arrived--Ben is in 7th grade at CJHS, Ella is in 5th grade here, and Anna is in 2nd grade right here at Hooker Oak.
